Faden Perel: Crafting a Unique Artistic Identity through Name Evolution and Musical Growth

Faden Perel: Crafting a Unique Artistic Identity through Name Evolution and Musical Growth

Name Origins:

The evolution of my artist name, Faden Perel, is quite an interesting journey. Initially, I went by the name "RK," which were my initials. However, I soon discovered that this name was already being used by several artists. This put me in a dilemma – should I stick with a name that many artists already claimed or opt for something unique?

Fortuitously, during my eleventh-grade English class, we were tasked with creating a fictional story, and I struggled to find a name for my main character. A friend of mine suggested "Faden," inspired by the character "Judge Faden" from "Batman Begins," one of his favorite movies. I found the name unique and appealing, so I adopted it.

Now, I needed a last name, and my initial choice was "Blaeze." However, over time, I felt it might not be the best fit. I decided to search online for unusual last names and came across "Perel." It resonated with me, and I changed my moniker to "Faden Blaeze." A year later, I considered changing my name again, mainly because I wasn't entirely satisfied with "Blaeze." I contemplated between "Perel" and another name, "Lavelle." Ultimately, I chose "Perel," a decision I'm confident was the right one.

Musical Roots:

My journey into music began when a close friend of mine started creating music. Witnessing his talent and the creative process intrigued me. What really sparked my interest, though, was the freedom that writing lyrics for music provided. It allowed me to express myself creatively without the constraints of traditional writing.

However, the decision to record and release music didn't come immediately. I pondered between pursuing music and other interests. Eventually, my passion for music won out. My first song didn't come quickly; it took two years from the decision to start creating music. The initial delay was due to a lack of necessary tools and funds. When the opportunity finally arose, I seized it, and since then, I haven't looked back.

Inspirational Artists:

Two artists have had a profound and lasting impact on my music. First, there's "The Weeknd," my all-time favorite musician. Beyond his music, his life story serves as an inspiring example of achieving success through hard work and determination. Second, "Post Malone" stands out for his versatility and ability to seamlessly fit into various musical genres. His voice, range, and use of background vocals are simply incredible. Both artists have influenced my work ethic and style significantly, and I'm immensely grateful for that.

Creative Process:

My creative process varies. Some days, I'm highly motivated to start and finish a song in one sitting. Other times, I might struggle to complete a recording. To maintain creativity, I jot down one-liners and ideas throughout the day in my notes. When inspiration strikes, I work on developing these ideas into melodies and flows, often recording them in my voice memos for later use.

Recently, I challenged myself to record something every day, even if it was just a hook or a verse. However, I soon realized that I was recording less frequently as I had overworked myself. Taking a break for a few weeks turned out to be a wise decision, as it allowed me to refresh my creativity and return to recording with renewed energy.

Dream Collaboration:

My dream collaborations would undoubtedly be with the artists who have inspired me – "The Weeknd" and "Post Malone."

Evolving Sound:

Since I began my musical journey, my music has evolved significantly. Initially, I lacked confidence and felt awkward when recording, often worrying about disturbing others. Over time, this confidence issue has largely disappeared, and I now feel at ease when recording.

Another notable change has been in my songwriting. Initially, I wrote whatever came to mind without a structured narrative. However, I realized the importance of crafting lyrics that create a cohesive and enjoyable story for the listener. I moved away from random verses and now focus on lyrics that convey a narrative listeners can follow and appreciate.
