His signature style? Romantic, slow R&B beats with a 90s- inspired seductive touch. Whether it's playing in the background of a TV hit or setting the mood in an upscale restaurant, Truebeatz's music is designed to evoke emotion and nostalgia.
From PlayStation Experiments to Industry Placements
Truebeatz’s journey into music production started in an unconventional way—through video games. As a young producer, he honed his craft using "EJay Club World" and "Music Maker" on the Sony PlayStation, long before he had access to professional equipment. But his ear for music was sharp from the start, inspired by the smooth, sultry production of Devante Swing from Jodeci, as well as the dynamic sounds of Just Blaze and Kanye West. These influences became the foundation for his signature sound: a deep, evocative R&B groove that harks back to the golden era of the 90s.
In 2014, his career took a major turn when he landed his first TV/film placement. His instrumental "Sexy You Are" was picked up by the Bravo hit show "Keeping Up with the Kardashians", a moment that solidified his presence in the industry. From there, he partnered with Soundreef, which distributed his music globally to retail stores and restaurants. Further placements followed, including work on "Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen", and most recently, he joined the "Who'z the Boss" music library in Chicago.
A Sound Designed for Love and Storytelling
Truebeatz’s production isn’t just about creating background music—it’s about setting the tone for stories. His beats, heavily influenced by the likes of R. Kelly and Jodeci, are tailored for romantic music videos where artists can bring out deep emotions in their lyrics and performances. His album artwork reflects this vibe, often featuring silhouettes of women’s bodies or black-and-white imagery of the Cincinnati skyline. This attention to aesthetics reinforces the sensual, intimate experience he wants his listeners to feel.
Although he doesn’t consider himself a songwriter, Truebeatz plays a pivotal role in guiding artists in the studio. He helps shape their delivery, ensuring their performance aligns with the mood of the track. This hands-on approach is what distinguishes him—not just as a beatmaker, but as a true producer who understands how to bring a vision to life.
Looking Ahead: Collaborations and Live Performances
While Truebeatz has already made significant strides in music licensing, his ambitions continue to grow. He’s currently working with up-and-coming producers and has a wishlist of artists he hopes to collaborate with, including Coco Jones, Summer Walker, and SZA—all artists whose sensual, rich vocal styles would complement his signature sound.
Although he hasn’t performed live yet, Truebeatz envisions himself eventually taking the stage with an instrument in hand—most likely a guitar, an instrument he deeply loves. As he expands his career, he remains committed to his guiding philosophy: “Things may not come when you want them to, but you just have to keep working and be patient until it’s your turn.”
Truebeatz is more than just a producer; he’s a curator of romance and nostalgia through music. With his smooth R&B soundscapes already heard around the world, it’s only a matter of time before his name becomes as recognizable as the artists who have inspired him.
