Rye Catchers’ musical journey began in a familiar setting: a high school garage band. As the drummer, he found joy in the raw energy of live music. However, it was the after-hours tinkering on the keyboard that truly ignited a deeper passion. This early exposure to different instruments laid the foundation for a diverse musical palette.

Post high school, Rye Catchers reunited with a former bandmate to produce a professionally recorded three-song demo on cassette. Despite limited success, this experience was pivotal. It marked the beginning of a lifelong dedication to music, albeit one that would remain dormant for several decades.

Revival and Reinvention

In late 2019, with newfound maturity and resources, Rye Catchers made a decisive return to the music industry. Leveraging modern distribution platforms like Spotify and YouTube, he began self- publishing his work. By 2021, he had signed with the indie label Valiant Horizon, gaining further distribution via Label Worx. This period of revival was driven by a simple yet profound love for music, both as a listener and a creator.

Rye Catchers’ musical style is characterized by a penchant for dramatic suspended chords, creating a unique sound that resonates with themes of love, loss, and longing. One standout track, "UFO" from the album MIXED MESSAGES, exemplifies his ability to blend relatable emotions with innovative storytelling, likening the pursuit of love to an elusive, otherworldly quest.

Contemporary artists like Louis Cole and Magdalena Bay also inspire Rye Catchers, showcasing his appreciation for unique and innovative talent across genres.
