OldKarma, an artist, doctor, and philosopher, embarks on a unique artistic journey. His passion for melody and rhythm ignited at a young age, and he formally entered the music world by integrating into the local rap scene in Londrina, Brazil, around 2013. OldKarma vividly recalls walking long distances daily to engage in local rap battles and gatherings, which allowed him to build relationships with some of the region's finest rappers and producers.
During this phase, OldKarma recorded numerous singles with notable artists such as "Melk," "Familia IML," and "Mano Fler." However, it was a tumultuous time, marked by substance abuse and homelessness. With the support of those around him, he managed to escape life on the streets, but his connection to music remained steadfast. He continued to pursue his musical aspirations while embarking on a journey to study medicine in Cuba, where he penned most of his "Karmic Webs" album. He graduated from medical school in July 2022 and now dedicates more time to his music.
OldKarma views his artistic identity as a reflection of his life experiences. He believes that everyone carries their past with them, impacting their present to varying degrees. Choosing wisely in the present can lighten the burden of the past, while making poor choices can weigh heavily on the present and future. This concept of karma, as a consequence of one's actions, constantly occurring, gives rise to the idea that every being possesses old karma. His goal is to rectify past mistakes, be the best version of himself, and always keep his old karma in his consciousness.
